Today we have the last Budget to be held in the spring. From now on, all Budgets will be held in the Autumn time, which means we have another Budget this year, before settling down to a yearly Budget again. Until they change the rules again.

The main Spring Budget page can be found here. Big page with lots of colourful pictures. Says “Spring Budget” at the top. You can’t miss it.

However, the important page is the one where the documents can be found. That page is here. Let’s hope that there aren’t any more pages.

The Finance Bill itself will be published on Monday 20 March 2017. Which doesn’t leave much time for tax writers to do their quarterly updating…

This year, I am not going to be providing a separate Budget page – though I might change my mind. I am, at the moment, recovering from a long illness, and so I am spending the time recuperating.

However, for those of you looking for insightful comments on what happens today, may I recommend the Live Panel Discussion at Accountingweb chaired by well known tax author and commentator Rebecca Cave.

Rebecca has also put together a team of experts who will be providing detailed analysis later on.

Happy Budget Day everyone!
